When I was younger my mom was home with a daycare business and my dad worked full time. Every day my dad would come home from work and ask "What did you do today?" I hated that question. It was so boring to recall what I did every day mostly because I never did anything exciting. I could never understand why my dad wanted to know what I did all day... until today.
My wife stays home and watches our kid and babysits a couple other kids. I work full time and when I come home from work I ask my son (3 years old right now) "What did you do today?" He asked me today why I always ask him that when I get home.
I never really thought about it. I guess I ask him that everyday because I want to know what he learned. I love seeing how he grows everyday and I don't get to see him grow while I'm at work. I love when he has some breakthrough in his toddler knowledge.
